ET SKOLEÅR

Et folkehøgskoleår er et komprimert år. Første skoledag er lørdag 22. august 2026 og siste skoledag er 15. mai 2027. Lørdag er også en undervisningsdag på folkehøgskole, og dette er med på å gjøre året til en sterkere opplevelse enn andre studier. Det betyr også at du har god mulighet til å ha sommerjobb i forkant og etterkant av skoleåret. Nedenfor kan du gjøre deg kjent med viktige datoer og laste ned timeplanen for kommende skoleår.

VIKTIGE DATOER

NORWEGIAN PRELIMINARY COURSE 16.08-21.08.26

All international students must attend a preparatory course before school starts. This gives you the opportunity to get to know the school, the other international students and the language. 

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL 22.08.26

On Saturday, August 22, friends and family are invited to a ceremonial opening of the school year. Check in from 9:30 a.m. The program for guests ends at 5:00 p.m.

NORTHERN MARKET TOUR 31.08-02.09.26

During the first few weeks we go on a group trip to Nordmarka. We spend the night in the Nordmark Chapel, lavvo or hammock and get to experience a real camp atmosphere with swimming and various activities.

AUTUMN VACATION 25.09-04.10.26

The school closes on 25th Sep at 4:00 PM and opens on 4th Oct at 4:00 PM. It is not possible to stay at the school during the holidays. We recommend traveling by train if possible. The start after the holidays is Monday 5th Oct.

STUDY TOUR PERIOD Week 45-46

In November, all students go on a study trip, in Oslo or abroad. The study trip period provides new impressions and new acquaintances. Read more about the study trip offer HERE .

CHRISTMAS VACATION 17.12.26-03.01.27

The school closes on 17 Dec at 4pm and opens on 3 Jan at 4pm. It is not possible to stay at the school during the holidays. On 16 Dec there is a Christmas party for the students that lasts all evening. The start after the holidays is 4 Jan at 9am.

WINTER VACATION 19.02-28.02.27

The school closes on 19 Feb at 4 pm and opens on 28 Feb at 4 pm. It is not possible to stay at the school during the holidays. The start after the holidays is Monday 1 March at 9 am.

LINE WEEKS AND LINE TRIP Week 9-10

The weeks after the winter break are dedicated to line training. During these weeks, the line goes on a separate trip to a destination in Europe. Read more on the line pages.

EASTER HOLIDAY 19.03-30.03.27

The school closes on March 19 at 4 p.m. and opens on March 30 at 4 p.m. On Thursday, March 18, there will be an Easter celebration for the students, which will last the entire evening. The start after the holiday is April 1 at 9 a.m.

FESTIVAL 23.04-25.04.27

Weeks 15 and 16 are project weeks that culminate in the school's own festival. During the festival weekend, friends, family and others are welcome to the school to see what the students have made.

BEACH HOME 03.05-05.05.27

The trip to Strandheim marks the beginning of the end of the school year. We spend quiet days by the Oslofjord in togetherness and gratitude.  

LAST DAY OF SCHOOL 15.05.2027

On Saturday, May 15, friends and family are invited to a formal end of the school year. Check-out is possible from 10 a.m. The program ends at 3:30 p.m. and the school closes at 5 p.m.

Hverdagen på folkehøgskole er variert. Du har linjefag som du har valgt selv, valgfag du kan prøve deg frem med, og felles aktiviteter med hele skolen. Mange dager består av både undervisning, turer, prosjekter og tid til å være sosial. Det er ingen karakterer eller eksamener - læring skjer gjennom opplevelser.

Du vil få en introduksjon av våre valgfag når du kommer til skolen. Etter introduksjonen får du velge hvilke du vil teste ut. Vi har flere valgfagsperioder, så her får du en gylden anledning til å utforske bredt.

Søndagene har du stort sett helt fri. Her velger du hvilke aktiviteter du vil være med på. Kanskje du trenger å gjøre ingenting, lade batteriene og gå en tur i skogen?
