Oslo Folkehøgskole Rønningen er en folkehøgskole midt i Oslo, midt i livet, midt i fellesskapet, midt i tro og tvil og midt i verden som den er. Vi tror at trygge fellesskap skaper hele mennesker.
Folkehøgskolen er vårt hjem, og vi trenger vi noen felles kjøreregler for å skape trygghet og trivsel for alle som lever her. Når du takker ja til skoleplass, forplikter du deg til å følge disse reglene. Elevene er myndige, vårt samarbeid bygger på frihet og tillit – det gir best vekst.
BASIC RULES
Rønningen Folkehøgskole aims to create a safe, good and caring school environment, where staff and students work together to create a learning environment that ensures the health, safety and welfare of the students. The school is the students' home and the boarding houses are part of the school's holistic learning environment. Students who act contrary to these goals and values will be called to a meeting with the disciplinary council and may risk expulsion and loss of their school place.
All teaching, morning assemblies, Saturday seminars, student evenings and projects are mandatory.
Students are responsible for cleaning and hygiene at the boarding house, as well as tasks in common areas and in the kitchen.
Extensive absences without a valid reason can lead to loss of a school place and loss of scholarship entitlement if absences exceed 10%.
Living allowance covers board, lodging and common costs and is invoiced according to a payment plan.
Failure to pay will result in disciplinary action and may result in loss of school place.
The school has access to rooms for necessary maintenance, cleaning or teaching in boarding pedagogy.
It should be quiet in the dormitories between 23:00 and 07:15.
(Saturdays 24:00 – 08:00). Guests must leave the area by quiet time, and music systems must be turned off. All students must stay in their own rooms.
For reasons of hygiene and allergies:
No pets at the boarding facilities.
Smoking only in designated areas.
Boarding schools and educational buildings are non-smoking.
The school's network should not be used for illegal activities or content that conflicts with the school's values.
Misuse may result in limited access or ban from the network .
Rønningen is a drug and alcohol-free school .
It is prohibited to:
Drinking alcohol or acting drunk on school grounds
Storing alcohol or drugs
Violations are dealt with by the Disciplinary Council and may lead to expulsion .
The use, storage or sale of drugs is prohibited throughout the school year – including during holidays and weekends.

If you damage school property or trigger a fire alarm through negligence, you are liable for compensation .
By accepting a place at the school, you commit to following the school's ground rules.
Honest conversations and dialogue are always the first step in handling cases in the Disciplinary Council.
OUR VALUES
Oslo Folkehøgskole skal være et sted hvor mennesker kan lande, vokse, utforske og bidra. Verdiene våre er ærlig, modig og til stede. De kommer til uttrykk i valgfag, fellesfag og linjefag og i hvordan vi bygger fellesskap med hverandre.
ÆRLIG Hos oss skal mennesker få være ekte. Ærlighet handler om å møte hverandre med sannhet, tillit og respekt. Vi øver på å være ærlige med oss selv og i møte med andre.
MODIG Modig handler ikke om å være fryktløs – men om å våge og å stå opp for det som er godt og rett. Vi tror mennesker vokser når de utfordres, støttes og får rom til å prøve igjen.
TIL STEDE Tilstedeværelse handler om nærvær i relasjoner og vilje til å se hverandre. Det handler også om å være til stede i seg selv og i verden: I naturen, i lokalsamfunn og i globale spørsmål.
OUR PROFILE
Oslo Folkehøgskole er en kristen, grønn og global skole. Vi er en frittstående skole, opprettet på kristent grunnlag, og bygger vår virksomhet på den kristne tro og verdiene til KFUK-KFUM Norge.
KRISTEN Vi bygger på kristen tro og KFUK-KFUMs verdier: åpen, modig, utviklende, rettferdig og trygg. Hos oss er elever med ulik tro og bakgrunn velkomne. Kristen forankring betyr for oss et inkluderende og verdibasert fellesskap, ikke krav om personlig tro.
GRØNN Som grønn skole tar vi miljø og bærekraft på alvor – i undervisning, drift og hverdagsvalg. Vi ønsker å skape bevissthet rundt natur, klima og forbruk, og utruste elever til å ta ansvarlige valg for framtiden.
GLOBAL Å være global betyr at vi løfter blikket. Gjennom reiser, samarbeidspartnere og et mangfoldig elevmiljø møter elevene internasjonale perspektiver. Vi ønsker å styrke forståelsen for verden, solidaritet og global rettferdighet.

Oslo Folkehøgskole Rønningen is owned by YFUK-KFUM, one of Norway's largest children's and youth organizations and part of the global YMCA/YWCA movement. YFUK-KFUM works to ensure that children and young people develop as whole people – with spirit, soul and body – in open and safe communities.
