SOWETO / JOHANNESBURG
We start our journey in Soweto, one of South Africa's largest townships, where we live centrally and meet youth and young adults at the Soweto YMCA, who give us insight into their everyday lives and the challenges they face.
We explore Soweto by bike, meet people in different life situations and experience local culture and food. In Johannesburg we visit the Apartheid Museum and Constitutional Hill.
PILANESBERG / SAFARI
We go two days north to Pilanesberg National Park for safari. The animals are most active early in the morning and at sunset. That's why we do both sunrise safari and sunset safari. In Pilanesberg there is a chance to see many wild species, including all the "big five".
CAPE TOWN
The last part of the trip is spent in Cape Town.
We visit Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned, hike up Table Mountain, explore areas like Bo-Kaap and Observatory, and meet young people at a local YMCA.
There will also be surfing in Muizenberg and penguin watching at Boulders Beach.
The stay ends with a jam at Fat Harry's and sunset from Signal Hill before returning home.
