Study trip to Jordan

The study trip to Jordan offers powerful human encounters and rich cultural and natural experiences. We learn about the conflict in the Middle East and reflect on the path to peace, visit historical icons and go on adventures in the desert. The trip would not be complete without a dive in the Red Sea, world-famous for its vibrant colorful fauna.

MEET YOUNG PALESTINIANS

Oslo Folkehøgskole has a close relationship with partners in the YMCA and YWCA in Palestine and has for many years traveled with students on study trips to the Middle East. In Jordan we meet young Palestinians and talk about their experiences and perspectives. How do occupation, discrimination and bombing affect everyday life? What can we do together to contribute to justice and peace?

Arab culture

We live in the multicultural capital Amman and get to experience Arab city life full of contrasts. Through our acquaintances you get to experience the Middle East from the inside - genuine hospitality, Arabic food and personal meetings.

Experiences
Experiences

Jordan offers a variety of opportunities from camel riding with Bedouins to beach bars and snorkeling in the Red Sea. We visit the lowest point on Earth, and explore the ruined city of Petra - one of the seven wonders of the world. We experience the unique lunar landscape of Wadi Rum, spend the night under spectacular starry skies in the desert and go swimming in the Dead Sea.

"The trip reminded me that the world is bigger and more complex than what we often see from a distance."
