OSLOVE – The city as a classroom
Through the subject OSLOVE we get to know our capital city better and everything it has to offer: from east to west, and from the city center to the countryside and the fjord. During the school year you will experience much of the unique things Oslo has to offer, from culture, sports and nature. Some experiences you share with the whole school, other experiences you can choose to participate in. Along the way we get to know the diversity and opportunities that exist in Oslo.
Get to know Oslo
Oslo is a city of contrasts. We encounter differences and communities, culture and nature, traditions and new impulses. Through the subject, we gain insight into what shapes the city - art and culture, sports and volunteering, multicultural environments and local communities. Here are some of the experiences you can have as a student with us.
Joint trip to Nordmarka
During the first few weeks we go on a group trip to Nordmarka, where we spend the night in the Nordmark Chapel, lavvo or hammock. We go on day trips into the field, gather around the campfire, swim and get to know each other better. The trip provides both good shared experiences and a taste of the hiking opportunities that surround the capital.
Group trip to Strandheim
The year ends with a joint overnight trip to Strandheim camp, on the Oslofjord. Here we can enjoy refreshing swims in the fjord and activities in idyllic surroundings. We fill the days with volleyball, football, canoeing, swimming, relaxing by the pier and pleasant evenings around the campfire.
Along the river in torchlight
Elvelangs i fakkellys is an annual cultural festival along the Akerselva River in Oslo. A variety of artists and musicians create atmospheric experiences with live music, sound art and installations and it's all free! We participate both as performers and as audience members at this event - one of the highlights of the autumn.
