Festival

One weekend a year, the school is transformed into a magnificent festival area. The program consists of content created by the students themselves, plus features from former students and other exciting voices in the fields of art, music, dance, sports and social studies. Two weeks are set aside to create the content and set the program. The festival weekend opens the doors to give the public an insight into what the students have been working on.

Programs, posters, stages, exhibitions, concerts and performances – everything is created by the students. Together, they create one of the highlights of the year.

Exhibitions
Exhibitions

Our photography, art and architecture students create the festival's visual expression. They curate and transform the school's space into an exhibition of art, creativity and installation.

Gain insight into students' academic processes, their social engagement, and exploration of current topics through form, sculptures, video, images, and architectural models.

Music and dance
Music and dance

Different stages are filled with a range of expressions and genres – dance battles, street dance, contemporary dance, mini-performances and concerts in various formats. Students collaborate across lines, and students will have the opportunity to be creative both on and off stage.

During the festival, the students are both performers and organizers, together with fellow students or performers from Oslo's music and dance scene.

The festival also provides space for engagement, reflection and new perspectives. Students put the issues they are passionate about on the agenda through debates and conversations about politics, art, music and social issues.

The students share their own perspectives and invite exciting people, artists, performers and performers with first-hand experience from the music industry, top sports and the arts community in Norway.

Sports activities
Sports activities

Sports in a festival format consist of tournaments, competitions and activities, and fill the festival area with life. The students in sports will be able to show off their skills and measure their own strength, in addition to facilitating activities that ensure that the Rønningen Festival is the festival in Oslo with the most breadth!

Catch matches with live commentators, inspiring meetings with sports profiles and join competitions and shows!
