At Oslo folk high school you'll spend a year studying Norwegian language and culture alongside Norwegian peers. Discover your passions, build lifelong friendships, and explore one of the most beautiful countries in the world — all without the pressure of exams or grades.
We are a boarding school with programs targeted towards young adults aged 18-22 with a few places for students down to the age of 17 and up to around 25 years old. We offer two different programs for international students. Both courses require good conversational level knowledge of English.

OPTION 1
Study Norwegian language and culture as your main course. In addition you attend elective courses in Norwegian with Norwegian peers. READ MORE.

APPLICATION PROCESS
Application for the following school year opens 15th October every year. There is no application deadline, but the most popular programs fill up quickly – so don't wait too long.

Payment
When you accept the offer of a place, you will pay the full school fee of NOK 148,300. If you are a Norwegian citizen if you are a non-Norwegian citizen. You can either transfer to # 739233 or pay to the school's account: 3000.15.31545
When you accept the offer of a place, you will pay an administration fee and fee covering the pre course for international students, in total NOK 5800. You can either transfer to # 739233 or pay to the school's account: 3000.15.31545. The remaining NOK 142,500 is broken down into monthly payments from August to May. This sum is distributed on monthly invoices that are adjusted to the Loan Fund's payments.
Early registration helps us plan the best possible trip for all participants. If you know which trip you want to attend, please register in advance of the school year. The final registration and payment deadline is September 2026. Pay to the school's account number, and mark the payment with the student's name and line.
