Tone Scott-Dahl Pedersen

From the piano stool as a five-year-old to festivals at home and abroad and her own album: Today, Tone Scott-Dahl Pedersen shares the joy of music with the students at Oslo Folk High School Rønningen.

Early crooked
Tone grew up in Ålesund and sang from the time she could talk, and started playing the piano at the age of five. She sang in choirs, played in bands and had her first paid gig at the age of twelve.
– Music has always been a big and important part of my life. Playing music, whether you listen to it or perform it yourself, can provide beautiful and powerful experiences.

From folk high school to album
She spent a year at a folk high school to cultivate her music – at Toneheim. The year was followed by education in rhythmic vocals and classical piano at the Music Conservatory in Kristiansand, as well as courses in Complete Singing Technique.

Since then, Tone has sung with a wide variety of pop and jazz bands, collaborated with a variety of different musicians, and performed at festivals and clubs both at home and abroad. As a result of several years of work, in 2022 she released her first album Moments , where she collected moments, moods, places, and stories.
– The album is made with love for the big and small moments in life. It was incredibly nice and educational to create both music and lyrics for this album – and not least to collaborate with so many talented and inspiring people.

To create together

– It's so great to see students become more confident in themselves, master more, dare more and develop, and finally achieve what they want. That's very rewarding. to be a teacher.

Tone wants to pass on the joy she finds in music, and believes Oslo Folk High School Rønningen is a perfect place to create something together.
– It's wonderful when you get into a good, creative flow and manage to make something beautiful. Creating and performing music with others is one of the best things life has to offer.
