Adapted

A year focused on academic, social and practical development
Unfold within your interests in a safe and inspiring environment
Become part of a large community and meet new people

This is an offer for those of you who live with functional variations. Here you can expand your horizons and develop your interests with follow-up from the school's support system. You will attend one of the school's courses, and throughout the year you will develop academically, socially and practically.

A YEAR IN PREPARATION

You will attend one of the school's courses and immerse yourself in this subject area. In addition to course teaching, electives and activities, you will receive good training in becoming more independent. You will meet warm, competent educators with consideration for the individual student. We also have an environmental teacher, an environmental worker, a music therapist and educators with specialization in special education and professional expertise in training and injury prevention.

Oslo Folkehøgskole is a special subsidy school. This means that you do not need extra support from Nav if you get a place with us. To be covered by the special subsidy, you must provide documentation of extensive adaptation needs. We do not offer a separate residential and work training line, but each year we admit students with different functional variations. Here you are a student in a diverse environment, and your everyday life will be adapted based on your needs with good follow-up.

To get a place at Oslo Folkehøgskole, you must first apply to the school. In the application, you state your needs for extra follow-up and guidance in connection with the folkehøgskole year. After this, we will invite you to a conversation here at the school to get to know you better and to further map your needs for accommodation. We have a limited number of places, and it may be slightly different from line to line how the activities can be adapted.

Oslo Folkehøgskole Rønningen wants to be an inclusive school with room for diversity, while at the same time having a limited number of places for students with special needs.

The special grant scheme is intended for students who need extra support in their school life. This may be related to physical, mental or cognitive challenges. In order to be able to assess applications on a special basis, we request documentation describing the diagnosis and/or support needs (for example, a medical certificate, expert report or other professional statement).

The documentation is used to assess:

• Whether we can offer a safe and well-organized school year for you.

• How we can best distribute the places so that everyone has a safe and inclusive learning environment.

In order for us to be able to provide a good and safe offer, it is important that you:

• Is self-reliant in daily life activities.

• Have the ability to live with other young people in a community at the boarding school.

• Can participate actively in teaching, meals and compulsory activities. Does it have to be included?

• Have an absence that does not exceed 19 days without a valid reason, in order to have the school year approved.

We make a comprehensive assessment of functional level and needs, and see this in the context of the student composition and the school's total capacity.

We have a limited number of places for students with special needs. To ensure a good and inclusive environment, we distribute the places according to a distribution key. This means that we seek a balanced composition of students with different types of needs and backgrounds.

If we consider that we cannot provide an academic and social offer that meets your needs in a good way, we unfortunately cannot offer a school place.

If there are more qualified applicants than we have space for, we will prioritize based on:

• Distribution of students across the different tracks.

• Available capacity and resources on the line being applied for.

• Need for adaptation and the school's ability to provide a suitable offer.

• The entirety of the student body.

Applications are processed in accordance with our admissions rules and the Public Administration Act's provisions on individual decisions.
