Whether you are a pro or a beginner, you get access to a photo studio, professional equipment and most importantly - fellow students who share your interest in photography and video. We inspire and learn from each other, and the capital is ready as a location for exciting projects in photography and film. With top equipment, good premises and collaboration across lines, you can realize the projects you dream of.

A YEAR IN PHOTO VIDEO

You will learn about camera techniques, recording techniques, lighting for different situations, and the basics you need about photo and film history. You will become familiar with editing techniques, get an introduction to apps in the Adobe Creative Cloud universe and the use of AI. We do all of this based on developing your own creativity, working project-based, developing ideas and collaborating with others in the production team. In addition, we work with publishing in different formats and on different platforms.

We believe in "learning by doing" and work mostly practically - in the photo studio, on location and in the editing room. The teaching alternates between group-based assignments, individual in-depth projects and lectures and excursions in and around Oslo. You will also gain valuable experience when we take on external assignments such as photo shoots and production of advertising reels.

With Oslo as our location, we visit current photo exhibitions and exciting events, and get input from guest teachers who are themselves active photographers and media profiles in the capital's vibrant media environment. Oslo is a city where there is always something happening - here we take on real photo assignments and gain experience from reality. At the same time, the city offers countless opportunities for creative exploration: we test street photography on busy streets, capture the architecture of iconic buildings and let ourselves be inspired by the city's unique light and energy.

Whether you are a beginner who wants to play with visual expressions or dream of a freelance existence in content production, there is a place for you at FotoVideo. Here you will also have the opportunity to build a portfolio for further photography or film education. We adapt teaching and projects to different levels and interests. The only requirement is that you have the desire and motivation to create visual works.
