Common subjects
At Oslo Folkehøgskole you get more than just what your course offers. As a comprehensive school, we have a variety of subjects, activities and meeting places where people with different interests and experiences meet.
This happens through common subjects, seminars and activities that everyone participates in. Here you can get to know yourself while learning more about the world around you. The schedule has varied items that give you a real folk high school year. Meet current speakers, learn about new things and be challenged on your own perspectives.
Saturday is a highlight
– also at folk high schools. Then we gather for seminars where you can participate in activities, meet inspiring people and gain new perspectives. You will be introduced to a wide range of topics and gain tools that strengthen you in taking your place in the community and in your own life.
Program evenings
All the lines help create a joint program for the school. Each class fills an evening with content that they want. In addition, the school arranges gatherings and party evenings on various occasions. These are the evenings you will remember long after the folk high school year is over.
Morning gathering
The morning gatherings are about more than just getting up. We start the day together, with clear and engaged adults sharing songs, stories and their own experiences. It provides space for reflection and inspiration that you can take with you throughout the day.
Oslove
In addition to actively using the city as part of our teaching on all levels, we also have the common subject OSLOVE . A few Fridays or evenings a week we go out to experience and explore the city. We go to a football match at Ullevål, see performances at the Opera and go on an island trip in the Oslofjord. We collaborate with professional communities and organizations in the city, visit the music festival by:Larm, and contribute with our own performances and art during Elvelangs, an atmospheric, local event that stretches along the entire Akerselva.
